Brazil and On-Going Ministry

I am back from a very very busy and ministry packed time in Mafra, Santa Catarina, Brazil.  This is a much longer flight than I first thought.  The total time in the air to Southern Brazil from Minneapolis is 14-plus hours.  The day after arrival, and the long drive, we started meetings.  I had a total of 6 meetings which lasted for at least two hours each.  I also went to two homes where people had gathered for me to do 20 minutes to a half hour of ministry. God's Spirit moved in the hearts of people.  One 15 year old boy was convicted of things in his life he needed to change.  After we talked for a long time he surrendered those parts of his life to the Lord Jesus.  He was truly repentant.  Many couples needed to give their marriages to the Lord.  One couple admitted their selfish living and decided to let Jesus live His life through them.   One other couple had to let go of their wayward son and let God have him.  This, I believe is part of the meaning of the verses in Mathew 11: 28-30 where as a child of God, our burden is light.  These difficulties are His burdens, and that's the reason He died and was resurrected so He would carry this for us. For many of us, our own will prevents this. We'd rather try to struggle through our difficulties on our own.  This is part of our pride. These are just a few of the things God did in people's lives in Brazil.

I thank God for a letter I received 2 weeks ago from a man in Kansas City.  I did a concert/meeting there over 4 years ago.  He wrote how he then gave his life to Jesus Christ and is now living a victorious Christ-centered life.  He's involved in a local church, belongs to a Bible study, and tells others of his new-found faith.  He's having a hard time at work because of his testimony.  "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" Mathew 5:10. Praise God for this man now living to God's glory!!

Please pray for me as I go to Ohio this week, and then to Mountain Lake, MD for a Deeper Life Conference, and then I go to Northern Wisconsin, and  on to California.  God is opening places for ministry I could never open on my own. Thank you for being a big part of this outreach as you continue to pray.

NAGALAND, INDIA

imageWow! What a trip to Nagaland.  I could write more pages about this trip than anyone would have time to read.  It was a gruelling and exhausting time- BUT extremely rewarding and fruitful.  I flew from Minneapolis, MN to Newark, to Delhi, to Gawahati, Assam, to Jorhat, Assam.  Then we took a hair raising drive 4 plus hours into the mountains to a town called MOKOKCHUNG.  The event for five days was very well advertised with churches involved and many many workers for stage building, bench building, counselling, PA system, and the other things involved in a city-wide event.  I brought the message and sang at each service. The last day we had over 7200 in attendance with over 80 people coming publicly to profess Jesus Christ as their Savior for the first time! Many others came for prayer needs in their lives.  The Holy Spirit moved in hearts of many people.

All the ancestors of the people attending were head hunters.  The entire area is made up of various tribes.  They were at constant war with one another.  It was a sign of manhood and good hunting skills, if when you were 16 years old, to get the head of someone from another tribe. Your status in the tribe went up the more heads you were able to get.

The Bible says: "The heart is deceiptful above all things and desparately wicked, who can know it?  I the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind." E. Clark, A missionary from America, came to Nagaland to give the gospel in 1878.  Over the period of several years the Holy Spirit swept the hearts of almost every person in each tribe.  They surrendered their hearts to the Lord Jesus Christ.  He made the old self go away and made everything new!! I have never met more grateful people as  to what God has done in their lives.  If you look at some of the pictures under  "Gallery" you will see some of the people waving their arms in the air and praising God for forgiving them of their sins.  It was a sight to behold.  The wailing was in praise to Jesus Christ because they know His blood  has cleansed them from all unrighteousness. NOW, all the tribes in Nagaland sit and fellowship together praising God for what He has done!!

Please pray as I prepare for going to Brazil on March 8 to teach, preach, and sing.

Back from Nagaland

Just returned from a very gruelling but extremely wonderful trip to Nagaland.  On the last day of evangelistic services we had approximately 7600 people.  I was given about one and a half hours for my singing and speaking.  Many responded publicly to the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ.  It was an amazing time.  I will have pictures and more written this coming Monday.  Thank you for your support given for this great opportunity of ministry in MOKOKCHUNG, Nagaland India.

India trip/message

I am leaving today for India.  Much preparation for many times of ministry have been underway for months- songs to sing and over 7 messages for large meetings in MOKOKCHUNG, Nagaland India.

This morning I read from John 12 and in the 32nd verse it reads: "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself." It's my prayer that as the messages are given and songs sung, this will all point to the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.  1 Peter 1:3: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from  the dead".  After long flights to far NE India and travel by car into the mountains, It's my prayer the message of the hope in Jesus Christ will be given fresh, vibrant, and boldly to lost people.

I want to thank each of you who made this trip possible.  Please continue to pray so He is lifted up!!

In His Peace and Love, David Koblish

Slaying The Giant

I am working on sermons and music for India and Brazil.  One of the sermons will be on David and Goliath as recorded in 1 Samuel.  Goliath, a Philistine, wanted to destroy the army of Israel.  With his huge stature it seemed most likely he and the Philistine army would conquer.  However, God raised up a little boy, David, in Israel who obediently watched his father's sheep.  As a young lad, on the hillside in the country, David heard and followed the voice of God.  He began preparing his life to serve God because he loved Him. The Bible says to "prepare your minds for action," (1 Peter 1:13)  This is what David ,on this lonely hillside, was doing even though he didn't know the challenges ahead.

God raised up David to face Goliath in battle.  He was against insurmountable odds.  David was chosen for this big task because he learned to be obedient in the little things.

The entirety of this story can be read in 1 Samuel 17.   One of the profound lessons to learn from this account is when David was confronted to fight Goliath, David said, "your servant will go and fight". He had no idea how he would defeat Goliath but He knew God would be his wisdom and strength.  That's faith- faith in the One Who would never leave him!!

You know the story, David killed the giant Goliath.  The people were stunned.  In human understanding  and reasoning this could never have ended this way.  With God though, All things are possible!! Jesus said "The things that are impossible with people are possible with God." (Luke 18:27) No matter what you face today, God can conquer it- ANYTHING!!
